The Northern Region of the National Chinchilla
society
held its Annual General Meeting on Sunday 24th April 2005 at Birdwell
Community
Centre. Many subjects of interest to the region were discussed
including
promotion of shows. It was decided that as using Birdwell
Community
Centre as a central venue for Northern shows had been so successful
last
season we would do the same again for the 2005-2006 season. Sunday 17st September 2003 The 10th December Show to be another `Christmas Special` after the success of last years event. Judges were also provisionally chosen and will be confirmed at a later date. or even triple height. Its easy to work out prices too, double height
are
double price and double carriage cost. Example 36"long x 18" wide x 24"
high. costs £59-00. plus £20-00 delivery. So a cage 36"
long
x 18" wide x 48" high would cost £130-00 plus £35
delivery. This cage would have two levels with a wire floor between and a ramp leading up to the second level, two wood shelves in each level and doors in each level, with our usual built in hayrack and bottle protector plus slide in tray.- - - - |
| - - - - - - - - - I receive many calls and messages about digestive and possible vitamin deficiency problems with chinchillas, Many of these chinchillas are being fed on a `mix` instead of the usual chinchilla pellets. The mix is being fed to animals experiencing health problems far too often for it to be coincidence. We always recommend good quality chinchilla pellets for the basic diet. The problem with a mix for chinchillas is that they tend to select the tasty bits and leave the rest so they are not getting a balanced diet. This cannot of course happen with the pellets. - - - - - - - - - |

Society`s membership year is 1st July to 30th June. Its £15. per year UK membership and excellent value with the chinchilla gazette out every two months containing interesting and informative articles about chinchillas. Visit the shows and meet other members with the same interests as yourself. Some members have over 40 years experience of chinchilla keeping!
